Early Childhood and Preschool

Apple Tree Preschool

There is much research that suggests a child’s early years are important for the development of intelligence. An excellent preschool program should stimulate and challenge a child to develop to their fullest potential. It is our belief and experience that when placed in an environment of happiness and cooperation, children respond positively and develop fully.

At the preschool level, the school day is a balance of learning and fun. Each day includes art, music, and physical activities to promote strong gross motor skills. As they are ready, students work to develop learning skills in pre-reading and pre-math. The children are introduced to the concept of “content learning” through lessons in science and social studies. Content learning is a technique that introduces subject matter in an interesting and fun way allowing the child to create a memory bank of information to pull from in future lessons at the elementary level.
